Sledge synopsis to date:
Imagine the nightmare of a lunatic: clown-like faces reenacting the horrific crime that turned a good cop into maniac. Sledge, the nickname of vice cop Jack Hammer, has boys to protect against wrong cops and a system that’s based on exploitation and wrongfulness. At every turn Sledge makes heartfelt mistakes and deepens the abyss whose bottom is rage and strife.
David LeBarron’s latest feature was inspired from the works of DC and Raymond Chandler. A long time fan of the style, David new he wanted to “do” a character for his monologue show in the noir style. He and photographer Sara Brown wanting to work together, took the character ideas and started working on short. After a trip to NYC, David came back with a feature script. They just sort of starred at each other and said, “yeah, let’s do this.”
Shot mostly on a black box stage, Sledge is a dark comic book style punk/noir film with no apologies and no heroes. Sledge is dark, irreverent and thoroughly bad-ass.
Sledge played Arclight via the SIlver Lake Film Festival.

In the future, war is a system of commerce. One product guaranteed to be produced in abundance is ORPHANS. These unfortunate brats are thrown into grouphomes run by the military. They are then made to earn their keep by hustling the streets via legal vice.
Sledge, a.k.a. Jack Hammer, runs one such grouphome which is barely holding it's turf from a rival gang. Blue, the rival gang's runner, has infiltrated and set-up Sledge's boys. Will the boys betray Sledge for a buck or 2?
The boys take matters into their own hands. Blue steps in to take over, but Sledge isn't finished yet.
